Let them Sleep
I recently overheard a conversation between a group of moms with college age kids. They were complaining about when their kids come home to visit they sleep so much. They were frustrated and hurt, rightfully so. We have so little time with our ‘adult’ children that we want to spend as much time with them as possible.
Wanna Trade?
I’ve been sitting outside trying really hard to write and it’s just not working y’all, my thoughts are all a jumbled emotional mess. So I’m just gonna put it here where most likely it will receive some flak but oh well.
It’s OK
To my seniors who are worried about things that some adults don’t seem to think are important. It’s ok to be angry that your senior year is being screwed up. It’s ok to be sad that you’re missing out on being a normal teenager. It’s ok to be more scared than you think maybe you should be. It’s ok to get frustrated at the adults who are making decisions for you because you’re “an adult”…but you’re also still our children.

It’s hard on this momma’s heart but you know what I didn’t realize is how hard it’d be on the daddy’s heart as well.
Hate is a Strong Word
It’s pure selfishness really, to be mad that he isn’t here, I HATE it.
I Used to feel Guilty
I used to feel guilty for lazy days, days spent on the sofa or in bed with the dogs and fuzzy blankets. Days binging on stupid shows and movies or reading all day long. Days where I don’t change out of my sweatpants and drink an extra cup of coffee (with maybe a side of Oreos). I used to feel guilty…until today.
New Year, No Resolutions
It’s January 2 of what’s going to be a year of big changes for this family and while I’m excited for this new year I’m also scared out of my mind at the same time.
Perfectly Imperfect Life
This ‘perfect’ image of what we should look like, dress like, drive, live in, etc is mostly unattainable for all but a precious few and I can promise that the glimpses we see frozen in time on these overly priced little screens we stare at all day are not the real reel, they are not the whole story.
Prayer and Pandora
Anxiety is a brutal feeling y’all, it sits on your shoulders, on your heart and on your mind. It swirls around you until you’re completely consumed unless you can find a way to step out of the haze that it produces.
